CAMRIA in collaboration with the Norwegian National Advisory Centre for Antibiotic Treatment in Specialist Health Service (KAS) arranged a hybrid seminar on Aspects of antibiotic treatment in children. The seminar was chaired by Per Espen Akselsen and had about 35 participants. Dr. Sanjay Patel from Southampton Children’s Hospital, UK, shared his experience and explained how implementation of infection pathways including antibiotic stewardship had secured prudent use of antibiotic in children. Scientific Director Siri Wang, Norwegian Medicines Agency discussed Compliance of antibiotic in children and a set of measures to promote improvement in adherence. Professor Klaus Klingenberg, shared his experience with work optimizing antibiotic use in new-born infants University Hospital of Tromsø and finally professor Nina Langeland, Haukeland University Hospital presented several studies comprising severe blood stream infections in children in Tanzania.
